2020 was a weird year. We tried our best to make it nicer while we were all stuck at home. With new features and easier ways to set up a whole home DVR, we hope we helped just a little.

With new sidebar navigation, advanced playback options, a full library mode for browsing large libraries, and a ton of new options, Channels 4.0 was a huge release this year.

PIN Based Authentication

Channels got a lot easier to log in while away from home.

Gone are the days of manually entering URLs for logging in. With a single snap of your camera, you can log in instantly.

Advanced Remote Control Support

Channels added enhanced remote control support this year allowing for quick shortcuts and channel surfing.

Custom Raspberry Pi Image

In 2019 we got Channels DVR Server running well on the Raspberry Pi 4. This year we made it even easier by creating a custom image to turn your Raspberry Pi 4 into a dedicated whole home DVR.

Apple Silicon Support

Within 2 weeks of Apple releasing their first M1 based Macs, Channels DVR Server was officially running natively on Apple’s new architecture.

Not only that, you can also install the iPad version on these new Apple Silicon Macs to run Channels right on your computer.

Watch Channels in your Tesla

After Tesla added some great new entertainment enhancements, we wanted to make sure your live TV and recordings got in on the action.

Never Lose a Recording With Trash

Early in 2020 we added Trash to Channels DVR Server. Instead of instantly deleting, recordings are now held in the Trash for a certain number of days before being deleted.

Now you never have to worry about losing accidental or automatically deleted recordings.
